a rather lengthy blog that recapped the highlights of my
Christmas Holiday.
Hidden within that blog - for those brave enough to read it all - was a little hidden give away!
My introduction to a couple of months of aMaZiNg GiVeAwAyS!
Not everyone remembered to wear cool slipper socks!
Can you guess which ones are mine??
Be a follower who is first to e-mail me with the correct answer and you could win a price.
First. The winners. Yeah there were two.
That's the thing about hidden giveaways the rules are a little vague. I didn't have anyone e-mail me the correct pair of socks but I had two people say the striped penguins were mine. The actual first responder said two different socks so there is a consolation prize headed to Mel at Tall Mom on the Run.
The grand prize winner is Jill at Run with Jill. A package of goodies is headed your way.
Congratulations to you both for winning and for being such loyal supporters of my little story of life!
I don't want to spoil the surprise so we will all have to wait and see the goodies from the
winner's blogs once they are received!!
Some exciting news!
An official giveaway graciously sponsored by the wonderful people at
One More Mile

1. I'm a follower now! Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt is a toss-up, I love 'Running is Cheaper than Therapy' but then I saw "Will run for chocolate" and "Will run for wine." Since I love wine and chocolate and if I *had* to choose I'd pick 'Will run for chocolate.'
ReplyDelete1) HI! I'm a follower and I LOVE 1 more mile. 2) Anddd I have a lot of their stuff but I could definitely use more car magnets and T-shirt with "Will run for...'s" on them or their "Ben there run that" Ts!\
ReplyDelete3) I dressed as Hannah Montana in Oct for a halloween race... I had to toss my very long and very hot blond wig in the middle of the race, pulling out my real hair and looking quite disheveled.
First I am a devoted follower! I love all your adventures in the country and all your cute kiddos!
ReplyDeleteSecond, I do believe the boring white socks on the left our yours!!
ReplyDeleteThird, the shirt that I love and it's in my favoirte color is "Running is my Happy Hour" - it's in pink AND long sleeve! My b-day is next month, gonna link that to the hubbs :)
ReplyDeleteFourth, can you tell I am excited about the giveaway! Just became a fan of One More Mile on FB! You can look me up if you like - just send me an email and I will give you my FB name :)
ReplyDeleteFifth, and final, wait, I will link you too tomorrow...EVERY SINGLE LOCAL race and some more distance ones, my husband and I see the same runner. He is an asian man, mid twenties, and he is about five mins faster than me ALWAYS, but he wears a pink sports bra, a pink visor, and the best of all that cheetah and pink running skirt! My hubbs takes a pic of him running past at EVERY race and when he sees him I am always right behind! This year, my goal is to beat him! He is so entertaining and we have a collage of him! :)
ReplyDeleteCount me in, I'm already a follower!
ReplyDeleteAnd now i'm a One More Mile fan on FB
ReplyDeleteI'll go for the pink l/s 'you know you're a runner when...' tee.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable running outfit (in a bad way) was when I had the brilliant idea to wear a hot pink skirt over black tights with a hot pink (but not matching) top. To distract everyone from the fact that my pinks were clashing I threw on a black vest. During the 1/2 marathon I got waaay too hot and the zipper on the damn vest was stuck so I roasted my buns off in a blaze of pink.
ReplyDeleteWait I won?? I knew the penguins were yours and I FAILED to read that I needed to email you.. UGH!! I am an avid follower and commenter :)
ReplyDeleteWhen does this contest end? DO you want 1 comment for each answer??
Yea for me!!! I've never won anything in my life (is it a new 4WD BMW, by chance? :) ). I've enjoyed sharing your journey with you and I can't wait to see whee 2010 lands us! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love One More Mile stuff! My favorite shirt slogan is probably "Dear God, please let there be someone behind me to read this."
ReplyDeleteI also like "Who moved the finish line?".
I'm a follower of yours already. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm already a fan of One More Mile on Facebook. :)
ReplyDeleteMost memorable thing I've seen worn on a race: A lobster hat. A man wore a lobster hat for the whole marathon and he was just ahead of me almost the whole way. Maybe that's why I remember it so well.
ReplyDeleteI just put a link for your giveaway on my sidebar!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Haha, I actually really like the shirt featured on your blong, "Kick Assphalt"! Its hilarious!
ReplyDeleteWorst outfit I've worn while running: definitely a BRIGHT yellow shirt and these ugly maroon shorts. It was an early morning run, and I did not care, but my neighbors came out and started laughing at me!
ReplyDeleteI linked you in today's post :)
ReplyDeleteI was pretty proud of my Giraffe costume although I did not get to wear it because of RAIN..
ReplyDeleteI love the pink Marathon hats and many many of the shirts.. The 13.1 earrings are pretty precious.
ReplyDeleteHi, saw Tall Moms link, so now I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteLove the shirts!
ReplyDeletei am a new follower. :)

I just linked you on my blog!
ReplyDeleteSome guy dressed up like Darth Maul(sp?)full makeup and all, and ran a half marathon in 2hrs 10min. like that.
ReplyDeletei really like either the 'will run for chocolate' or 'find you happy pace' tshirts.

ReplyDeleteI would like to win the shirt that says, "Today I am a Kenyan."
ReplyDeleteI love OneMoreMile - want ALL of their stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat Tall Mom referred me (she told me to say that!)
The worst outfit I've seen was something that someone else must have thought normal - I don't want to offend by describing...she could be reading.
1. I am a follower! Whoot!
ReplyDelete2. I a a fan of One More Mile on facebook!
ReplyDelete3. I have a weakness for car magnets, and especially ones that say, "In my dreams, I am a Kenyan."
ReplyDeleteMy most embarrassing running outfit is easy: hot pink socks, unshaven legs, and muffin crumbs on my ass and icing in my hair. It was a crazy morning.
ReplyDelete5. Consider your blog linked. Done. :)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog! I'm now a follower!
ReplyDeleteYou giveaway is now linked on the sidebar of my blog!
ReplyDeleteJust became a FB fan of One Mile More
ReplyDeleteI would want to win the Runner Girl Cap or the "One Bad Mother Runner" shirt!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite running outfit is my dark pink tank, navy/pink running skirt with pink/white striped socks. I'm wearing it in my profile picture ... but the worst outfit I ever saw was a group of women wearing colored (pink/purple)animal print skirts and 1 shoulder strap tops. It could have been cute, but they wore all this pink hair dye and face make up and they just looked scary. I laughed every time I came across one!

ReplyDeleteMCM Mama
I've always been a fan of the "Will run for beer", but since I'm just about to start training for a second marathon, when I said I'd never do it again, that shirt is pretty accurate.
ReplyDeleteMCM Mama
I like the "My sport is your sport's punishment" tshirt. Cute!
ReplyDeleteOn a recent Jingle Bell Run the winner was dressed fully as Santa, including beard. It wasn't "funny" so much as crazy, because we live in South Florida and the heat and humidity is insane!
ReplyDelete1. I'm a follower!
ReplyDelete2. Just became a fan of One More Mile on FB
ReplyDelete3. I am coveting the "Canadians Do it Metric 42.2 Short Sleeve"
ReplyDeleteOK - I just became a follower. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED what you said in Tall Mom's blog about how we have all experienced the same 365 days but did so many different things during that time. That is just magical to think about.
I linked to my blog. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBecame a fan of One More Mile and I love the Running Won't Kill you shirt.
ReplyDeleteCrazy costume in the Crazy Legs Classic. I am from madison wi - home of the University of Wisconsin. One of the annual runs is the Crazy Legs Classic - named in honor of Crazy Legs Hirsh, former football player at UW and former athletic director.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - it is an 8K run held in April. There are usually at least a couple people running in full football gear. Last year we saw a couple of women - (late 50ish age wise - I am 54 and they were older than me) - in full pads and helmet running / walking during the race - which was run in about 45 degree weather and heavy heavy rain. Unbelievable and CRAZY.
Plus there are usually a couple of Hot dog costumes in honor of Oscar Mayer.

ReplyDelete2. Just linked to you :)
3. One more mile has so much stuff I love! I think my favorite is the Kick Assphalt T-shirt, although the Toenails are for Sissies is pretty good too.
Oh, I love their little sayings!! I would want the "find your happy pace" or "toenails are for sissy" long sleeve shirts!
ReplyDeleteI just linked back

ReplyDeleteAn item I'd like to win from One More Mile would be a running tank or singlet with "Kick Assphalt" or "May The Course Be With You" on it. I'm a Star Wars nerd so it combines two things I love :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteI like the "Find Your Happy Pace" shirts. Right now, the long-sleeve one seems most appropriate.
ReplyDeleteSomeone I know wore pink running shorts that would often bleed color during races. The pink would be streaming down his legs during the whole marathon.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower
ReplyDeleteI used to care what I looked like when I run and now I just throw things on. When I have a race my outfit is from the clothes I like but otherwise I'm pretty tacky.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the " you know you're a runner when...." T-shirt! Except I still can't say fartlek without laughing!!
ReplyDeleteI'll post a link on my blog today!!
ReplyDeleteI stopped by the website and I LOVE the "May the course be with you" shirt, but there were so many other ones I loved too. Cute site, I'll be bookmarking it.
ReplyDeleteI added a link to this page on my Great Giveaways section on my blog!
ReplyDeleteThe best outfit I ever saw was during the Halloween 10K I did last year, there was a man and he had on a pink ostrich (the kind that looks like he's a jockey) and he was carrying a musket with an American flag while wearing a civil war hat. It was the most random and bizarre costume but the best part was he was smokin' everyone and at the end of the race there was a woman who was just behind him and her boyfriend was yelling at the finish line, "Don't let a pink ostrich beat you!!!" It was my favorite costume I've seen so far.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and I love that t-shirt!!
ReplyDeleteI would love the long sleeve t that says "this seemed like a good idea 3 months ago" on the front and "race official. do not pass" on the back!! Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI posted a link on my blog!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of this blog
ReplyDeleteI am also a fan on One More Mile on Facebook
ReplyDeleteI linked this on my blog - myfirst5k.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteIt would be hard to choose - I like the tanks that say:
ReplyDeleteRunning is cheaper than therapy
Slow is the new fast
I gotta run
I follow one more mile on facebook!
ReplyDeleteI wore a turkey hat for a race - does that count as a costume?
ReplyDelete1. I am already a follower as you well know! :)
ReplyDelete2. Just became a fan on FB
ReplyDelete3. I want to win the "Kick Assphalt" tank because it would remind me of the sign I saw while running Chicago Marathon and anything that reminds me of that glorious day makes me so happy!
ReplyDelete4. My worst running outfit? Perhaps the completely ridiculous "christmas elf" look I donned on Christmas eve for my pace work out... now that was pretty silly! LOL!
