S'ghetti girl had her first school dance.
I couldn't get her to stand still long enough to get a clear photo.
We went back to home for our annual Fall Foliage Festival.
The kids love seeing their favorite magician
Goofing around on a sugar high.
A getting to spend time with the Big Kid.
One thing that wasn't on my side was a lack of sitter-support. I missed my annual 10k.
You can read about last year when the super secret spy and I both ran.
2011 Fall Foliage Classic 10k
I also missed a training marathon the weekend prior. Ugh!
I need to find more sitters with my Big Kid making a life of his own.

One thing on my (running) side has been the way I've been feeling. As I slowing increased my mileage I have felt great! Hitting a high mileage of 75 last week. With less than 2 weeks before the Fire on the Mountain Trail 50k, I'll focus a bit more on time on my feet as I try to pull back on the miles. I keep reminding myself that I do have a "big" race coming in a month.
Stone Mill 50 Miler
Where I will be out to see how I can actually do on their course when it is actually closer to 50 miles.
With loads of travel between PA and VA, kids to wrangle with the super secret spy often traveling and big races to prepare for I'll have my hands full but somehow I always seem to be able to pull it off. Well, at least most of it.
Awesome 75 mile week! Keep up the great running!
ReplyDeleteI've been training on the Stone Mill 50 course. There are some changes from last year, and the RD says it's right about 51 miles now. I'm looking forward to it, but quite nervous about jumping up to 50 miles. The longest I've run so far is 30. Any insight on the race? With the 13 hour cut-off, I'm worried I'll slow down too much and get cut.
ReplyDeleteMy son has his first school dance on Thurs! Did your school have a list of some very interesting rules about it? Times have changed!
ReplyDeleteGreat miles! No doubt you're gonna rock Stone Mill. I'll have to check around to see who I know doing it again this year!
Haha, I'll believe that it's actually 50 miles when I see it. 75 miles is amazing! You're a beast! Can't wait for FOTM. I'm a little scared though!
ReplyDelete75 miles in a week is mind blowing to me; I'd have at least 10 stress fractures. The highest I've been able to hit is about 65 without feeling like my skin is being ripped off. You are incredible.
ReplyDeleteI remember when my twins were young and finding sitters was next to impossible during the school season. Thankfully one of my neighbors stepped in so I'd get an hour every day. Priceless. Hope you find something suitable soon!
xo
Great high mileage week in your 50 miler training cycle! Girl, how I love 50 milers. :)
