Three Things Thursday - Orange Edition

Yes, S'ghetti's uniform is 2 sizes too big.  Opps.

The Mighty Oranges (Orange Crush!) have finished their season.  The summer is going by so quickly already.  And then I remember that some schools are just getting out while my kiddos are on day 15 of their summer vacation.  Congratulations S'ghetti girl on another great season.

Now that's a hand held!

Always ready to support his big sister, LBM took the opportunity at his sissy's last game to play bandit soccer and streak across the field.  At least he had his clothes on...and in the right color!

I am back to drinking diet pepsi...I know it's not good for me but...

I had to stop eating hummus.
I seriously think I could eat a pound of pine nut hummus a day.  My favorite snack is to pair it with orange and yellow peppers.  I was eating so many of them that my finger were actually stained from cutting them all up on the weekends.  Orange you jealous?

Wondering, Wandering and (hopefully) Winning on Wednesday

I caught this photo when S'ghetti girl was having her professional soccer photos done.
I asked the photog for permission first
I wonder if S'ghetti girl's league allows headers?

The other day I had a visitor wander onto the property at work.  This snapping turtle roamed the property and sun bathed.  He even tolerated my photo attacks on him.  It takes so very little to highlight my day.

Today is Day # 360 on my running streak.  I don't know a better way to cross that year mark than with some winning!  Hopefully I'll do just that because Miss Zippy is hosting one of my favorite giveaways:  Compression!  I am so excited for the opportunity to try another brand of compression;  Play Harder.  But everyone should know the wonders of compression so hop over and visit Miss Zippy.  You'll get real world advice from an experienced mom and runner.

Clearly Kissing takes Concentration

Last evening S'ghetti Girl had soccer practice which meant we had to hustle to fit everything into our evening.  Add to our already busy evening a forecast of potentially violent thunderstorm and the need to pick up a few things from the store and we were pressed to make it to soccer practice on time.

Normally LBM and I might run errands during practice but we didn't want to risk a storm blowing in while we were away from the fields.  So after a quick run to the store, we made it to practice.

LBM is not a fan of soccer practice.  Let me restate that, he is not a fan of not getting to practice himself and he quickly grows bored of mommy's lets-keep-LBM-busy antics...

...which lead to his discovery of my car keys.

You probably don't know but LBM firmly believes that he CAN drive my car.
He attempts to prove this every time we get in or out of the car.  He insists on having the car keys, tells me that he can drive and that the policeman is fine with him not having a license.

So when LBM found himself bored of my soccer skills, he quickly decided that he was going to drive me home.  In an effort to stall for the few minutes remaining in S'ghetti Girl's practice I offered to let him put the keys in the car for a kiss.

Clearly kissing me must be something he has to brace himself for.

That Silver Lining

Yesterday I tried to see that silver lining in the way my day didn't go my way.  I think I was able to enjoy letting go of the dissapointment that I often have when I miss a run.  We enjoyed playing and I enjoyed getting the kids to bed a little bit earlier.

Today things went my way.
I got a great morning run in.
I am all geared up for a run while my middle one has soccer practice.
I am excited to see if I can pull that off.
It is 91 degrees right now.
I can't wait to get out there and sweat!
